Find Hidden Wiring Faults Faster
A single broken wire or short circuit can turn into hours of electrical troubleshooting.
The EM415PRO Automotive Wire Tracer helps you trace hidden wiring and narrow down short circuits, open circuits, broken wires and wiring paths—without cutting into the harness or piercing the insulation.
Connect the transmitter. Follow the signal. Find the problem area.
✓ Helps narrow down short & open circuit faults
✓ Trace hidden wires without piercing insulation
✓ Follow wiring through harnesses, panels & carpets
✓ Adjustable receiver sensitivity
✓ 7" flexible probe for tight spaces
✓ Works with 6–42V DC circuits
Stop Searching Wire by Wire
Vehicle wiring can disappear behind dashboards, panels, carpets and tightly packed harnesses.
Instead of manually inspecting every section, the EM415PRO sends a tracing signal through the circuit.
Move the receiver along the wiring path and use the audible signal and indicators to help determine where the circuit runs and where the fault may be located.
Less unnecessary disassembly. Faster electrical troubleshooting.
Find Shorts, Opens & Broken Wires
Short Circuits
Follow the circuit and narrow down the area where an unwanted connection may be occurring.
Open Circuits
Trace the wiring path to help locate where electrical continuity has been interrupted.
Broken Wiring
Follow the signal along the harness and identify areas where the signal changes or disappears.
Wire Identification
Trace individual wires through crowded bundles without pulling the entire harness apart.
Trace Hidden Wiring Without Piercing Insulation
The receiver detects the transmitter signal without requiring you to pierce the wire insulation.
The 7-inch flexible probe can bend into difficult areas around:
- Dashboards
- Fuse boxes
- Wiring harnesses
- Interior panels
- Carpets
- Connectors
- Tight engine-bay areas
Adjustable sensitivity lets you fine-tune signal detection for different tracing situations.
Built for Automotive Electrical Troubleshooting
Suitable for compatible 6–42V DC electrical systems found in:
- Cars
- Trucks
- SUVs
- Trailers
- RVs
- Boats
- Tractors
- Other low-voltage DC systems
Ideal for DIY vehicle owners, mechanics, automotive electricians and repair shops.
How It Works
1. Connect the Transmitter
Connect the transmitter to the circuit being tested.
Depending on the circuit, this can include connecting in place of a fuse, across a connector, in series with an open wire or at a compatible bulb socket, following the supplied instructions.
2. Follow the Signal
Move the receiver probe along the suspected wiring path and adjust sensitivity when needed.
3. Narrow Down the Fault
Listen to the receiver signal and monitor the indicators as you follow the circuit to help identify the problem area.
Tip: For better signal detection, position the receiver probe tip approximately 90° to the wire being traced.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it find both short circuits and broken wires?
It is designed to help trace wiring and narrow down short circuits, open circuits and wiring breakpoints.
Does it damage the wire insulation?
No. The receiver can trace the transmitted signal without piercing the insulation.
Can it trace wires behind dashboards and panels?
It is designed to trace wiring through accessible harnesses and bundles, including wiring behind panels and under carpets.
Does it work on 12V and 24V vehicles?
Yes. Both fall within its specified 6–42V DC operating range.
Can I use it on trucks, trailers or RVs?
Yes, provided the circuit being tested operates within the supported 6–42V DC range.
Can I use it on household electrical wiring?
No. It is intended for low-voltage DC circuits and should not be used on 120V/230V AC household mains.
Are the batteries included?
No. The unit requires 2 × 9V batteries, which are not included.
Trace the Wire. Find the Fault.
When an electrical fault is hidden inside a vehicle harness, replacing parts at random gets expensive fast.
Use the EM415PRO Automotive Wire Tracer to follow the circuit, narrow down the problem area and troubleshoot the right section of the wiring system.
